Government spending cuts will lose contractors annual income of about £46bn, according to analysis just published by PwC. Around half a million private sector jobs will go.
Manufacturing, transport, hospitality and financial services will all feel pain, but the major losers are construction and, especially, business services, including legal advice, consultancy, catering and cleaning.
